FAQ
What kinds of therapy do you offer?
I draw on several different therapeutic techniques based on what I think is best for the client. However, I have specialized training in psychodynamic therapy, meaning I’m very focused on how your unconscious mind influences your thoughts, behaviors, and feelings. By making the unconscious conscious, we help you gain vital insights and more autonomy over your well-being. I also really enjoy Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Internal Family Systems, and will incorporate techniques from these approaches as well.
Do you specialize in working with a specific issue or population?
I consider myself a generalist, meaning I work with individuals struggling with all sorts of issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, and life transitions. However, I have specialized training in supporting individuals impacted by cancer and other serious illnesses. Specific issues I can help you navigate include but are not limited to: processing the loss of a loved one, adjustment to a new diagnosis, fear of cancer recurrence or progression, anxiety about medical procedures, contemplating existential concerns, and caregiver burnout.
How long are sessions?
Typically my sessions are 55 minutes long.
Do you offer remote therapy options?
Yes, I offer remote therapy via the HIPAA compliant platform Doxy.me. I also offer in person sessions in downtown Portland.
Do you accept insurance?
Right now I accept Care Oregon, OHP Open Card, and Aetna.
If you’d like to use your out of network benefits, I’d be happy to provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance to get reimbursed. I’m happy to help explain out of network benefits with you over the phone if you have questions about this process.
How much do sessions cost?
My rate is $185 per session. I offer a convenience discount for private pay clients who are not using insurance of $165.
Do you offer discounted therapy sessions?
I have set aside a limited number of sliding scale slots, meaning you pay based on what you can afford. Please reach out if you’re interested in working with me but are unable to pay the full private pay rate, and I will let you know if one of these slots is open.
